CLASH (Central London Action on Street Health)

Information, advice, counselling on drugs, HIV & other health issues for young homeless people, drug users, gay men and sex workers. Phone for emergency needle exchange and for times of LGBT sexual health clinics.

Community Drug Project Central Street Agency Services

For Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham residents who are experiencing difficulties with illegal drug use, and support for their families and friends. Advice, information, support and care plans. Assessment and shared care offered with clients' GPs, needle exchange, referral to specialist providers. Well users clinic on Thursday afternoons with Hep B vaccinations, HIV and Hep C screening. Range of welfare services - housing advice, benefits. Two prescribing clinics, GP support services, antenatal service. Wheelchair accessible. French & German spoken.

Opposite the Thameslink station. For homeless people in King's Cross, Camden and Islington who don't have a GP.

Mainliners

For Londoners (especially in Wandsworth, Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Greenwich) affected by HIV and drug use. Drop-in day centre at Kennington. Wide variety of HIV, Hepatitis, social, welfare and health information services. Free complementary therapies, free meals, laundry, needle exchange, condoms. Outreach in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham area. Information services as above, needle exchange, condoms. Portuguese spoken. No disabled access.

Project: London (Medecins du Monde)

Information, advice and practical assistance to help vulnerable people access NHS and other services. Some basic healthcare and advocacy for people who have problems accessing healthcare. Also operates from Providence Row and U-Turn.

Rugby House

Adult alcohol and substance misusers; pregnant women; translation available for non-English speaking clients; carers and parents with young children; clients who are homeless; unemployed but able to prove connection with the Borough of Enfield.

Soho NHS Walk-In Centre

Walk-in medical centre for general healthcare, contraceptive advice, and HIV/Hep tests. If you want to go after 6pm, phone first - the centre gets very busy.

South London & Maudsley NHS Trust Dual Team Catford

For residents of Lewisham & North Southwark who have problems with drugs or alcohol. Open referral system, advice and information, liaison and referral. Assessment and detoxification, counselling. Pregnancy liaison service to Lewisham Hospital, probation liaison service, homeless service, needle exchange, community care assessments for Lewisham residents, GP shared care. Also available on-site methadone dispensing. Long-term prescribing and dual diagnosis service. Interpreter can be organised. Wheelchair accessible.

Friendly drop-in where people who are vulnerable through homelessness or mental health problems can socialise, find support and access services.

The Connection at St Martin in the Fields

WCAS provides an accessible and flexible health and advice service to clients and their families adversely affected by alcohol use.

SAFE Project

Promotes the health and well-being of female sex workers (18+) in Birmingham, Sandwell and Walsall. This includes promoting personal safety and human rights, providing high quality health services and combating intimidation. Methadone project. Help for migrant sex workers. Free condoms. Excellent online information centre on hepatitis C. Runs the Hepatitis C Information Line for patients and professionals alike.

YMCA

Housing, training and community health organisation that runs hostels for homeless young people. Check the website for details.

Edinburgh Access Practice (Cowgate Clinic)

General nursing and treatment room, mental health care, 10 GP sessions a week, dental services two mornings a week. Also chiropody, occupational therapist, clinical psychologist and psychiatrist. A clothes exchange is available too. Please note: the practice is closed on the third Wednesday morning of every month.

Homeless Families Health Care Team

GPs, nurses and office staff also run clinics at some hostels. Appointments not necessary. Also support people who have hospital appointments and want someone to go with them. An addiction and mental health team is based here.

Doctors, nurses and office staff also run clinics at large hostels and at the The Wayside, Lodging House Mission and Big Issue. Appointments not necessary. Support for people who have hospital appointments and want someone to go along with them. There is also an addiction and mental health team.
